Our Purlai Gold has been awarded the IWSC Spirit Gold Medal, earning a rather golden 95 points from the judging panel. Why is our Purlai Gold so special? Here's what the judges say:
Enjoyably light, bright and fresh with a beautiful base wine that is lifted by honey, wild flowers and nuts. Vibrant on the palate with a clean citrus character that entwines with the delicate aromatics allowing a lovely long and enticing finish.
Produced from the oldest Bacchus vines in the UK, and blended with aromatic Schonburg, this delicious icewein-style digestif was aged for 15 months in custom Portugese chestnut barrels to add complexity and a rich mouthfeel.
Purlai Gold makes a great addition to the dinner table with a lovely English cheeseboard or fresh fruit salad.
