Introducing Sophia Joubert - our new Head of Commercial Winemaking
We’re thrilled to share that Sophia Joubert has joined us as our new Head of Commercial Winemaking leading New Hall into a new and exciting chapter. Sophia comes to New Hall with a wealth of experience having worked in South Africa, Europe and most recently Australia. We can't wait to see the results of her passion and experience.
Here’s what Sophia has to say;
I grew up among the vines on a farm in South Africa, surrounded by vineyards and winemaking from an early age. After my first harvest in Stellenbosch, I fell in love with the craft of winemaking and the people behind it, which led me to study winemaking and pursue it as a career.
Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to spend my time harvest hoping across different wine regions, working in South Africa, the USA, Australia, France, and the UK. Each harvest has brought new experiences, different perspectives, and plenty of memories along the way.
I’m really excited for this next chapter in the Crouch Valley — getting to know the region, the people, and the potential of this special place. I can’t wait to be part of the journey ahead."
